Renewal! Early Summer in the high country looks a lot like Spring. The grasses are a brilliant green, creeks are running high and the bucks still have velvet on their antlers. It’s a wonderful time of year to be out and about.
This is the ever-photogenic Mt. McGown in the Sawtooth range. Photographed at that magical time of day when shadow falls over the meadow and begins to crawl up the side of the mountains on the horizon. Everything begins to slow down. The deer and elk begin to leave cover to graze where the grass is greener.
As I stood in the marsh to take this shot, I couldn’t keep my mind off of transitions and renewal. It was a very serene place and time for me. (despite the damn bugs). It was a fantastic evening.
By the way. If you want to get that pretty pink light on this peak, ya gotta get there at sunrise. I just didn’t have it in me this weekend to drag out of the rack. LOL
